Vanda orchids
Although Vandas are often planted in soil, they are actual aerial orchids (growing in trees) and will soon ignore the pot and produce long aerial roots. In addition, the plant grows tall (maybe more than 1 m). As a result, they are not so easy to grow as Dendrobiums or even Spathoglottis. The aerial roots need spraying frequently in hot weather, but the plants will survive outdoors in the shade throughout the summer, flowering in winter.
The flowers are usually purple/white or orange.
