Tabernaemontana
Looks very similar to Gardenia, with large glossy leaves and white flowers, except that it grows in to a large bush and the flowers are unscented. It is very easy to grow and is happy in full sun, but needs plenty of water.
The single flower variety is much more hardy and flowers throughout the year, but the double, like Gardenia, tends to produce buds that drop off without opening, except in winter. If planted in the ground and well-watered, this can grow in to a 3 m very dense bush.
