Coleus
Coleus are not grown for their flowers and I always snap off every flower stem to produce a stronger plant (and if you allow it to flower, it will age very quickly). Although they can take some sun, they grow best in the shade. As the plant gets older, its leaves get larger and more spectacular. For this, they need a good root supply, so they are better in beds than in pots and the soil should have plenty of peat. Since they grow quite tall, I would put them at the back of a bed and they go particularly well with Impatiens in the foreground (as in the above photo, but also the photo for Impatiens).
The plants will last well in to the beginning of the hot season. They come in a wide variety of spectacular colours.
