Petrea volubilis (Sandpaper vine)
One of the world's most spectacular climbers. It is a very big strong climber (10+ m) with woody stems, best grown with its roots in the shade but need to be in the sun to flower. It produces long sprays of pale blue flowers with a dark center. Its common name comes from its large very rough leaves. It can be grown from seed (but I have never managed to get them to germinate!) or as a cutting. Difficult to get it to survive the summer, unless you live close to the sea (lower temperatures + a higher humidity).
