Polianthes tuberosa (Tuberose)
Although it has lily-like leaves, it is not related. It is quite hardy, although I grow it in the shade. Throughout the winter, it produces tall stems (which are rather fragile and need to be tied to a stake) of waxy white flowers. These have a fantastic scent at night, but it is extremely difficult to get them to flower unless you live closer to the sea with a high humidity.
