Stephanotis floribunda (Madagascan jasmine)
Although not woody, it has stiff stems due to a thick latex inside them. It has large glossy oval leaves at intervals along the stem, so although it is a strong climber (growing 10+ m), it does not form a dense foliage. Bunches of thick waxy flowers are produced with a fantastic jasmine-like scent, especially at night. It is not very hardy and is difficult to keep alive in the summer, but grows very fast during the winter. It is normally grown from seed.
