Bushes and small trees
This section considers perennial woody plants that are grown for their flowers. These may vary from 1m high (a bush) to maybe 3 m (a small tree), but beyond that you cannot easily see the flowers! There are many big flowering trees, but they are not included. Similarly, this section is not designed to be comprehensive: many of the more boring bushes, like oleander have been deliberately omitted.
Although bushes could be grown from seed, this may take many years. Usually they are grown from cuttings (see the Planting section).
Because of their large size, most must be tolerant of the summer the sun, since you cannot easily move them about.
